Dorothy's Slippers

Remember them?

Well, see how designers have celebrated the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz (which is one my favorite movies ever):

Zanotti

Tibi

Stuart Weitzman

Sergio Rossi

Moshino

L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani

Jimmy Choo

Botkier

Betsy Johnson

and... A. Testoni

Conclusion: Betsy Johnson really captured Dorothy's funky taste.

Spicy balls

Last week, while I was reorganizing my closet, I found an old grey shirt with cute little balls of the same fabric on it. I haven't wore it since 2002, so it was time for drastic measures.

First, I cut all it's balls off. (Hm-hm).

Now I'm left with these cuties.
What to do with them? Spice up a cushion? Decorate a handbag? Skirt?
Do the same thing on a better fitting grey shirt?
I'll keep you posted.

Poo and piggies

About a month ago my friend Laura and me went to the Paul McCarthy exhibition 'Air pressure' at the Botanic Gardens in Utrecht. (The objects are explained through the mp3-links below - Dutch only!)

Paul McCarthy (b. 4 August 1945, Salt Lake City) is regarded as one of the most important artists living today. His direct and confrontational approach has particularly influenced a younger generation of artists. Since the late 60s he has been active in various media, but it is only since the previous decade that his work has reached a broader art audience. For a number of years McCarthy has been steadily working on a series of large inflatable sculptures based on his characteristic iconography of ‘anti-symbols’ of American culture, which were developed as part of his performance art during the last 35 years.

Not only did we enjoy the funny inflatable sculptures, we also took a stroll through the immense and impressive botanic garden. So beautiful...

The Classic Tomato

(Yes, from my granny's backyard. Tastes delicious chopped with red onion, pepper, salt and good olive oil. Simple, but classic.)

You can say that again

I know this for a month, but now it's official
